The SCPC Resolutions – the good points and the bad points.

Ambazonian Flag

The Good points

The good points of the SCPC are self-evident and common with all the other efforts geared towards harnessing the collective efforts of all Ambazonians to effect “self-determination”. While others may have narrowed down their definition of self-determination, it has to be underlined that SCPC has left it as wide as possible, more on which later. The use of “EXTERNAL self-determination” could have transitioned this apparently good point to a good point though.

SCPC condemned the atrocities, in various forms, committed by La République du Cameroun against Southern Cameroons, resolved “continue to demand the release of all prisoners or conscience”, “condemned La République du Cameroun’s culture of impunity, which dehumanises Southern Cameroonians”… among other statements of the crimes committed by La République du Cameroun.

SCPC also outlined the twin aspects of the oft-quoted “root causes” to the failure of the UN in its decolonisation duties and the “bad faith of La République du Cameroun” in breaking their word and commitments subsequent to the 1961 plebiscite.

“Affirmed Southern Cameroonians’ right to self-defence”

These resolutions do not bind any Ambazonian to anything and could bring some good – but hopefully no lasting harm.

The Bad.

The SCPC did not choose to be the APC though nearly a third of the “signatories” are “Ambazonian” by name and several of the G0 “signatories” are “Ambazonian” by act – of fighting for independence of Ambazonia.

SCPC did not deem it politic to plumb for “EXTERNAL self-determination” never mind “independence”. Maybe the conference actually resolved that way, but it is very unlikely that all those entities who “put” their names on the resolutions settled for such vagueries. Did they all really think they should avoid the word “independence”, and then the phrase “external self-determination”? This language matters as it could be argued to buttress La République du Cameroun’s insistence that she is dealing with an internal problem by “granting” concessions.

In parroting the “condemnations” of the international community SCPC is casting itself as a helpless victim, at best, who needs and depends on the kind intervention of the international community, and at worst a supplicant to the same La République du Cameroun, who, after six decades of deliberate acts with a confessed aim to assimilate and destroy cultural identity of Southern Cameroonians, are somehow expected to heed the “appeal to stop”.

This supplicant posture carries on in the analysis of the two aspects of the “root causes”, where despite the “international community’s” history of failing Southern Cameroons, they are being appealed to without “any motivation”. What about pointing out the “bad faith” of La République du Cameroun in complicit guilt with the failings of the UN and then setting up preparations for “negotiations” not only without any mutuality, but seemingly reliant on their latter-day good faith and the international community’s?

La République du Cameroun can bring this document to the international community to show that Southern Cameroonians are begging for a negotiation and ask for time to deal with it internally.

La République du Cameroun’s culture of impunity is “condemned” as it should be but what has it got to do with a country fighting for its independence? If La République du Cameroun promise, hand-on heart to launch investigations to punish whoever, would that fool Ambazonians? (sorry Southern Cameroonians?)

The oddest part of the resolutions is that SCPC has appropriated onto itself the role of negotiator for the people of Southern Cameroons, who it also presumes to represent but chooses to assume a supplicant posture. This act belies the tone of the resolutions where a certain “harmless victim persona” contrasts sharply with the bold reach to grasp the mantle of representative!

And yet that is not all…one entity’s name is missing though its finger prints are all over the resolutions – and that is probably the biggest problem. It is time for Ambazonian entities to stop keeping themselves secret or acting timid so-called for the benefit of “the international community”. Is it really for the benefit of the international community?

It would appear it is as safe for SCPC to take Ambazonia for granted as it is for La République du Cameroun to do – even tame supplicant SCPC does not hesitate to assign itself the posts of “negotiator” and coordinator all while avoiding “independence” and even “EXTERNAL self-determination” for Ambazonia!

Fortuitous Fact-Check

By coincidence Ambazonia News was in a meeting where the question of “who is an Ambazonian?” was addressed. As The Most High God would have it, the personality addressing that question happened to have been a delegate at SCPC. They made it clear that an Ambazonians is primarily, in the current situation, someone who fights for Ambazonian independence. By contrast, it is well known that the invisible entity behind the SCPC defines Ambazonians as “people born in Southern Cameroons”, in a bid to appear “inclusive”. That delegate, responding to follow up questions, declared they had not seen the resolutions and that they had expected the theme of “independence” to be central, alongside “referendum” as a way of getting the Ambazonian people’s sovereign choice. Neither of these are in the current document, nor even the milder “EXTERNAL self-determination”.

Yet another delegate was more dismissive of the SCPC, questioning how people living in La République du Cameroun had been able to attend the SCPC in Canada in person and go back. Ambazonia News is reserving some of the assertions that accompanied this contributor’s statements.

What to do About SCPC?

If you were a delegate and/or signatory or implied signatory, you need to read it and ensure you agree. After reading, if you wish to exercise a right to reply please head to ambazonia.news and submit a comment or send comments through WhatsApp.

If you were not a delegate you similarly have a right to comment on the resolutions on whether you give SCPC permission to represent you as they propose and/or on the basis they propose. It is important! Your silence will be taken as consent!

For our part Ambazonia News is confident that even if SCPC turns out to be a LIMBE Horse its sheer inconsistencies will overwhelm it as The Most High God is the Watchman of Ambazonia. SCPC mentions 1984, presumably La République du Cameroun’s secession decree. The good point for Ambazonia is that that decree reverted LRC to its 1960 borders and liberated Ambazonia (also called Southern Cameroons) from the already unsigned-off and majorly breached-and-invalidated “union”. The upshot is that no resolution of the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle could be considered, embarked upon or contemplated, other than from the basis of two states – as if we were in the plebiscite campaign period, except now, with the benefit of hind sight of how the “expected loose association with La République du Cameroun could turn”. It is worth reading HCB 28/92 – the Bamenda High Court ruling in Ambazonia Vs La République du Cameroun.

Running out of ideas LRC reverts to French mentors’ ideas

Ambazonian Flag

Ambazonia News comes to you with a mix of reassurance that La République du Cameroun is losing the war and the sad fact that, like the French did six decades ago as they “left” their African colonies, La République du Cameroun want to cause as much pain as possible, in the vain and futile hope of terrorising us. Sadly we have seen it all before and endured it all before, before deciding to draw the line.

This week Ambazonia has seen another hero bear the land with their blood. In that event La République has seen fit to remain true to type by “displaying” his body like the French and their collaborators used to do with the nationalist independence fighters in Cameroun and the other colonies. We know that the collaborators of those days are still in office, even if not in power, in La République du Cameroun so it is no surprise they are borrowing from what they did all those years ago. Nor is it a surprise in Ambazonia as they have done it for the last seven years.

They have shot and killed toddlers on their way to nursery school, toddlers who literally could not hurt a fly and that did not deter us the Ambazonians. How could it?

They have indiscriminately killed a village-ful of pregnant women, children and elderly. Did that deter us? Did they learn?

They have similarly displayed other heroes. Did that deter us, the Ambazonians? No. We no longer have to try and convince those fifth columnists called federalists as it is now up to them not only to explain why despite La République du Cameroun systematically intimidating their own citizens for merely using the word federation, they think that we the Ambazonians should engage in a fanciful debate about a federation with people who, as if to make certain, are employing the methods of their French mentors to underline the utter untenability of even the loosest association.

As painful as it is we the Ambazonians must stay focused on the Daring Move methods to actualise our independence and expel the illegal and forcible occupiers of our land.

La République du Cameroun is a country outside and separate from Ambazonia not because we the Ambazonians say but because international law does . They are only on our land because they have been able to get away with it in the past. No more. We know how to get them out and we must stay the course and get our nation back for our future generations. The grand children of our fallen heroes need to fare better than the children of Um or Roland or … They must be able to see schools and universities and libraries and parks and streets named after those forebears who bore the land with their blood.

Ambazonia Unity – the myths and the reality

Ambazonian Flag

Ambazonian unity is desirable.

That is an understatement it would be difficult, if not impossible, to argue against that simple assertion for if one did, the follow up accusation would be that only those who don’t care about the suffering on ground zero would even dare to discuss the issue of Ambazonian unity.

And yet here we are in an information war, La République du Cameroun’s last throw of the dice in a desperate attempt to out-wait Ambazonians. The simple idea is that Ambazonians will grow wary and the Liberation Struggle would fizzle out.

When tackled by the international community, La République du Cameroun said Ambazonia was a disunited rabble so they did not know who to talk to. They then implied that they were dealing with a little local difficulty with a few malcontents and it would soon be sorted. When it was not sorted as quickly but kept getting worse, they stumbled on the idea of getting the “divided” Ambazonian factions to “argue among themselves” to demonstrate to the international community that Ambazonians were divided and that La République du Cameroun was right about not knowing who to speak to.

At the same juncture, whether instigated by La République du Cameroun or not, Federalists inserted themselves in between as the “would-be reasonable sensible” compromise, giving interviews in which they highlighted the futility of a fight that could not be won. With almost callous smugness one prominent federalist said they were waiting until the two extremists fought it to a stalemate and realised that they had to negotiate. Then, said he, the federalists would come in and negotiate a federation. At the time Ambazonia News had not come across the apparently established method of conflict resolution among the international community where it was common practice to wait for the warring parties to reach a mutually harmful stalemate or something equivalent. They actually have the acronym for it, MHS. That is a state where they both see that they cannot win and should negotiate. That makes sense when considered – for the neutral international community. But would we want to fight our struggle and then hand over to people who had calculatingly sat cross-armed waiting for enough of our people to die? Knowing that those people proposed to bargain with the people who had inflicted the genocidal acts on our people?

The latest manifestation of federalists is in the current spate of conferences where Ambazonians seem driven to “prove” their unity as it would speed up the Struggle. Nobody is saying how but it does make sense that if Ambazonian resources were pooled it could in fact speed up the Struggle. So will unity come? Does it need to come?

It would be “nice” for unity to come. Well, unity is already here, the unity of purpose that is not mentioned in the information war and which discounts federalists. Without federalists, there is no need to demonstrate unity of attempt to “attain” it, for it has been here all along and in the best self-manifesting form, cropping up every time it is needed!

In the Swiss process, even though it brought together diverse Ambazonian entities there was a unity of purpose in that they all wanted unconditional independence for Ambazonia and could describe themselves as “Ambazonian Independentists”. In Canada, the focus was even more stark, driving La République du Cameroun to fall back to the out-waiting position, committing the most unspoken diplomatic sin on the way out! They let Global Affairs Canada issue a communique on their role and hopes for the future of a facilitation process before coming right out through an official and unmistakable channel to basically call Canada “liars”. That time, unlike when they bailed out of the Swiss Process, they did not leave it to a minor remote figure from outside the circle to try to spin the defeat as a clever ruse by the nonagenarian dictator, but sent out the official communication minister!

Ambazonia 2 – 0 La République du Cameroun. Ambazonia Coalition Team (ACT) was batting for Ambazonia on both occasions – without requiring all its members to fold into one! Yet look how well we did!

Since that defeat there has been fevered activity in the “Ambazonian” camp to ignore that unity and seek to attain “unity”. Some actors have tried to gain the new “unity” by avoiding the word “Ambazonia” as they sought to be “inclusive”. Some have been unable to cope with their transparency, first designating themselves with “Southern Cameroons” then suddenly switching to “Ambazonia”. When challenged, some resort to references to the “unbearable suffering” of ground zero to divert attention.

Ambazonia News maintains that the reason true Ambazonians will stick to the Liberation Struggle even if people keep talking about “divisions” is that true Ambazonians are aware that the “unbearable suffering” of our citizens on ground zero cannot continue. The way we will stop it is through the unity we already have and that is our common instinctive unity of purpose which was not orchestrated through any resolutions of a conference but through the instinctive response of diverse Ambazonians who, on at least two occasions, told La République du Cameroun, in front of international witnesses, that it is over and our independence is for keeps.

Ambazonia News believes that conferences are useful for keeping in contact and exchanging ideas but urges all well-meaning attenders to be open-eyed when they attend so as not to be disappointed. The Ambazonian Liberation Struggle is not to achieve unity in conference resolutions. It is to actualise our legally existing and owned independence. As such all Ambazonians should be relaxed about our Nation belonging to us. It is no longer up for discussion. The shortest way for us to get it is to drive La République and her agents and allies out of our land – ourselves. That will prove that we are united and deserve our Nation. Conference resolutions will not compel La République du Cameroun to negotiate nor the international community to pressurize La République, which even if they did, could simply ignore and wait – try to out-wait us.

In a real way HCB 2892 tells us that we do not need to negotiate with La République du Cameroun as they are “illegally and forcibly occupying” our land after their secession in 1984 – a secession which also rendered it impossible for them to do anything on Ambazonians’ behalf, be it offering special status or negotiation or posting stooges in what they called Great National Dialogue. They do not even have the right to propose a referendum in Ambazonia, for want of that sovereignty!

Even if “unity” does not come from those initiatives, all true Ambazonians should seek out groups that dare and are willing to make Daring Moves and join hands in that single domain… Our country belongs to us and we have no apologies to make when it comes to our right to fund, fight and free it for our future generations.

The Most High God has always been the Watchman of Ambazonia.

The Daring Move is underway since the second day of September 2023.

Our ARF+ are acting legally in defence of our separate and independent state.

We once more reject La Republique du Cameroun occupation and remind all international bodies that our consent cannot be presumed regardless of how many fifth columnists La Republique du Cameroun parades. They are not our representatives and do not represent our wishes.

Ambazonian Independence – Daring Move

We the Ambazonians pledge our loyalty to our Nation and allegiance to the heroes, the ARF+. We count on the blessings and guidance of our ancestors as our ARF+ engage in the clear and focused duty in the actualisation of Ambazonian Independence and sovereignty.

The Daring Move will move the dial towards more intolerable hostility to LRC and her allies in the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle.

The ambiguous consideration of enablers and black legs as “ours” will be discarded. As allies if LRC they can expect the same hostility from our ARF+ proportionately. No longer shall they roam our territory or declare any treasonous allegiance to LRC in the impunity to which they may have counted.

The fifth column of LRC collaborators and enablers will face the same dire consequences their actions have visited on Ambazonian citizens. Ambazonian lives are precious and any acts which impinge on any aspects of the live and dignity of Ambazonian citizens shall attract proportional retribution.

Ambazonians are established and internationally recognised as a people and therefore own the right to their independence, dignity and inheritance. We the Ambazonians are going it alone to expel LRC from our land. We will call on all international partners of good will to help us negotiate the practicalities of separating our Nation from the colonial machinery of LRC after we have expelled the occupying artifacts. We welcome the support of all who witness and object to the genocide being perpetuated on our citizens to help with our Liberation as well as to care for our refugees.

We equally serve notice to those international parties who are enabling or supporting LRC genocide that the Daring Move will target their interests.

The Most High God remains the Watchman of our Nation.
