Ambazonian School Year 2024-25: Overcoming Challenges for Quality Education

Ambazonian Flag

Education is the first mass choice for Ambazonian parents.

The IG will seek consensus with other Independentists Entities to help Ambazonian parents to participate in setting up our education system.

We want a system we can trust and where effort and talent help all Ambazonian Children to fulfil their potential.

We want a predictable and equitable system where parents will expect no surprises when they turn up to the school gate with their children.

We expect some difficulty stemming from:

  1. Initial lack of experience
  2. Intimidation and influence-peddling by La République du Cameroun
  3. Lack of faith that our system will truly be a move away from La République du Cameroun patronage and corruption framework.
  4. Some initial lack of faith between independentist entities

These are the most predictable difficulties but, we expect to persist and convince parents and students that they can learn in a safe environment where only their effort is required to help them fulfil their potential – as an inevitable long-term goal.

We expect the sheer fulfilment of nurturing their children to encourage Ambazonian parents to make the system work. They will be supported to drive the social development of their children and youth and enjoy the self-satisfaction of making a difference at the crucial juncture when our country needs all of us.

We shall commit to work with all independentist entities to expand community education as a clear “vote with feet” all over Ambazonia to emancipate our communities.

We believe that the difficulties can be overcome by honest transparent adaptability which should allow us to refine and improve our system to meet our needs collectively, locally in each LGA, and further down to each school, teacher and pupil. We start from a sparse base but aim to improve week on week, month on month, year on year until adaptability and refinement become our norm in learning.

The School year 2024-5 shall kick off on 2/10/2024 and break for Christmas on 20/12/24.

American Basketball Player Honored with Camerounese Decoration: A Force for Change

In this image an American basket ball player who won a gold medal at the recent Olympic games is being honoured with a Camerounese decoration.

In case the message is unclear, it says ” A Force of Change”… probably meaning “A Force for Change”.

A country, which had a bigger number of officials than athletes, typically trying to appropriate another country’s medals!

According to Camerounese law, even though Embiid, for that is he, was born in Cameroun, he now needs to apply for a visa to visit. While he is visiting, absentee dictator Biya has issued “high instructions” to honour him for the photo op! The poor chap could not decline the “honour” but what a message… Worth more than a million words!

As they don’t speak English in Cameroun, the minister is proudly posing , oblivious to the message!

Ambazonian News Update: Imminent Release of Ambazonian Curriculum

Ambazonian Flag

This day we share the preamble of the Ambazonian curriculum from the Department for Education and Strategic Collaboration, DESC.

The document outlines the rationale of the curriculum to three parties , focusing on the idea of moving on and taking Ambazonia’s destiny into Ambazonian hands.

It acknowledges there could be problems of inexperience but urges Ambazonians to embrace those as opportunities to grow and learn, looking forward to the satisfaction of self-determination and self-reliance in solving our own problems.

Ambazonian News is set and ready to publish the curriculum here as soon as it is issued by DESC.

Read it here:

The Ambazonian Curriculum – Taking our Destiny into our Hands.

The Ambazonian Liberation Struggle has been about messages.

The Curriculum is the biggest and most significant message and the next logical message to “move on”.

To the illegal occupiers, La République du Cameroun: Our Ambazonian Liberation Struggle is not a protest. It is a decisive break away to take control of our social, economic and political development, with no regard to/or ill-feelings for the evolution of our neighbour La République du Cameroun. They do not need to carry out any reforms one way or the other as they are utterly irrelevant to our proposed route to a prosperous future for our nation, Ambazonia. It is way past the days of any thought that colonial-French-style terrorist intimidation of our people is going to have any effect. That same intimidation has established for all doubters that the “reunification”, though well-intentioned was a resounding mistake, from which we draw our lessons and move on. Our fervent hope is that we eventually have cordial relations as neighbours but we will not lose any sleep to maintain an unbalanced disadvantageous and utterly harmful association. It is time to stop dangling mixed messages or suggesting that our two countries need to accommodate each other in any other ways than as neighbours. Our step into the future is not to defy purported law as there is no law or expectation that Ambazonia should be a supplicant of La République du Cameroun. Indeed, experience teaches the contrary and an honest appraisal by La République du Cameroun’s political leaders should lead them to the same conclusion – that they should stop the illegal occupation and withdraw to their established international borders, no honour lost on either side.

Of course we will ensure the safety of our children in our schools.

To our people: This is an opportunity for us to step into the light and look towards a brighter future where we will explore with excitement and anticipation, all the opportunities for development and discovery. We believe that we are the equal of any society on the planet and insist on equal opportunities to fulfil our potential and creativity. Our reward will be the satisfaction of knowing that we resolve our own problems and overcome obstacles with our own ingenuity and effort, regardless of the approval or disapproval of other equal members of the community of nations and peoples of the planet.

We do not need or expect the benediction of any other nation, only our deserved and fair opportunity like every nation and people. Our humility is not to be mistaken for inferiority.

We accept, and look forward to, challenges which will strengthen our nation and drive our ingenuity and creativity due to our urgent necessity.

We are proud of our success in standing up to La République du Cameroun’s intimidation and now make it clear that it is time to start building our nation and society in peace and tranquillity.

The current state of affairs between La République du Cameroun and Ambazonia dictates that only one conclusion – that Southern Cameroons’ Founding Fathers’ dream welcoming brothers was a romantic mistake, which has been compounded by the daily experience of each and every Southern Cameroons citizen under the La République du Cameroun hegemony in the last six decades.

Starting from our children, we need to turn the page to a normal beneficial society where all our efforts bring us positive rewards and benefit ourselves and our community fairly. We should be proud to exemplify the benefit and need for hard work and self-determination to our progeny, pointing towards the light of modernity and science as the way forward towards an outward looking society where they can travel the world with pride and self-confidence, secure in being able to say they are Ambazonian and only draw respect.

To the international community: Ambazonia is taking her place. Any nations of good will are welcome and appreciated to help us make fewer mistakes, but our destiny is our own and we will learn quickly and improve. The international community should play their part in ensuring the safety of our children in our schools in conformity with the norms, as they would for all other children on the planet.

Never has any country accepted security forces intentionally firing live rounds into school-run traffic under any circumstances. Though many other atrocities and genocidal crimes have been perpetrated during La République du Cameroun’s illegal occupation of our land, we reclaim the safety of our children to attend their places of learning with the same safety that is expected and accepted for all nations on our planet. We heard “Never Again” and it is not a phrase that needs to be repeated but implemented. We will not “give it chance” for we are already a blessed special people who have learned that our special status is not in the gift of any dictator but resides forever within us, each and every Ambazonian.

If a limb needs amputating, it is not positive, optimistic or rational to suggest a sticking plaster. Delays in dealing with the disease jeopardise the whole body.

Ambazonia belongs to us! Ambazonians’ problems are ours to solve. Ambazonians’ social, economic and political development are ours to ensure.

Empty Coffers in LRC – Lenders beware

Ambazonian Flag

Ailing and invisible Dictator Paul Biya of La République du Cameroun has travelled to France “to take part in the Olympic Games opening ceremony”. That is the story being told by his lackeys. The truth, of which any La République du Cameroun citizen should hang their head in shame, is that he has gone to get medical treatment.

The “second personality”, himself not much younger or healthier, had gone before him … on his express authorisation for medical treatment. It would appear La République du Cameroun is not allowed to have any hospitals or medical facilities … apart, probably, from marabouts.

La République du Cameroun citizens have been trained to rate those who are influential enough to be able to be evacuated on high instructions for medical care in Europe. Only the crème de la crème are allowed to go to die in European hospitals on high instructions. That is why, after fort-two years of running La République du Cameroun no Camerounese citizen is shocked that their leaders travel to Europe for treatment, boarding private medicalised flying hospitals at colossal cost. Nobody is shocked because these are really important people who do need care to compensate for their selfless service to the nation, which they continue to bravely give well into their nineties.

So grateful are Camerounese that, while Mr Biya’s close circle are busy plotting intrigues to position themselves for the after-Biya, “opposition” parties are coalescing in grateful collectives to call for him to stand for re-election in 2025. Some eleven of these “presidential opposition” groups issued their first communique in only the second year of Mr Biya’s current soon-to-expire seven-year mandate. Yes, they had the foresight.

Before his trip to France, Mr Biya authorised his finance minister to go to the markets to borrow for development projects. La République likes borrowing and fighting wars and issuing decrees which are all very entertainment, if they were movie scripts but they are not. Still quite entertaining.

La République du Cameroun is the former French United Nations Trust Territory which aborted an ill-fated re-unification attempt with British Southern Cameroons by reverting to its 1960 independence day borders back in 1984. Unfortunately, Mr Biya, the author of the decision to secede from the unification attempt continued to illegally occupy the territory of British Southern Cameroons [HCB 28/92], now known as Ambazonia. In recent times La République du Cameroun’s illegal exploitation of Ambazonian resources has been “perturbed” leading to a shortage of income, which, in a country where investment and development are banned, one imagines, by the main beneficiary, the colonial mentor, France, given that more and more of “les gouvernants” ninety-somethings need to be evacuated at unsustainable cost for treatment. Add in the rampant corruption, which is the norm, and the complete incompetence and zombified populace and you have to be nuts to lend them your money!

Clearly the existence of La République du Cameroun and its methods testifies to the existence of “nuts”. As many still mistakenly imagine that La République includes “anglophone regions”, we the Ambazonians would just clarify that any undertakings – by La République du Cameroun only do bind La République du Cameroun as defined by their borders on the first of January 1960. In case the “nuts-lenders” come back and attempt to recount their woes to us, we just wish them to know beforehand that we have made it clear to La République Cameroun that we are separate and do not welcome their lethal brotherhood. They are not allowed to leverage our resources in any of their financial misadventures.

In any case, if you do come, you can see for yourselves that non of your money was spent on any development or infrastructure, whether in La République or in Ambazonia, but on helping would-be evolues live their dreams of being French.

La Republique du Cameroun headaches persist

Fecafoot, Brenda, in-fighting and jockeying and now empty coffers!

La Republique seems to be building speed towards the precipice of chaos.

Last week just rdpc cadre “revealed” that the coffers are bare and that lrc was, therefore, unable to provide for citizens as they usually do.

Some can still take private jets so it can’t be that bad!

On the back empty coffers hermit Paul Biya’s entourage is sounding out on how to prolong the “mandates”, for want of a better word, of MPs and Municipal Councilors, for want of better words.

They want to avoid “wasting money they can’t afford in elections”.

Some might say, in that case, all the previous times were massive wasted too, and even worse as they weren’t even “elections”.

The Biya regime should use the money to build health facilities they will need when the anti-immigrant, that is racist, right wing take power in France. Not before time, maybe independence will finally come to the French colonies!

Ambazonia resilience: why Daring Move continues to thrive.

Ambazonian Flag

Since the launch of Daring move in September 2023 consistency has embedded into the fight to expel La République du Cameroun has become more widespread, committed, focused and targeted.

No longer are any fifth columnist fearlessly wandering round Ambazonia claiming to be “elites” and trying to convince our people that against fighting for their dignity and freedom.

La République to Cameroun has had to break cover and go against some of her proxies in desperation, for instance, scapegoating the hapless thug Moja Moja even though they must have known it would show all other such gullible people how much mileage there is in throwing in their lot with La République du Cameroun against Ambazonia.

They now know that they are in between. If the ARF+ do not get them under the “authorised targeting of La République du Cameroun allies and proxies” of the Daring Move, La République du Cameroun will do them in under their “leave no witnesses” modus operandi. Only a truly gullible soul could imagine that they are the exception to La République du Cameroun’s systematic campaign of assimilation-by-marginalisation.

An so Moja Moja only looked more pathetic attempting broken French. Broken French only shows up its authors as gullible anglophones.

Team Ambazonia issues latest press release on consultation between independentists…

As la République du Cameroun lurches towards chaos, Team Ambazonia, the Ambazonia Consultative Commission continues much-needed consultations to keep channels open between supposedly divided Ambazonian Liberation Movements.

They are not that divided! The reason for the collapse of the tentative negotiation processes is that “there is no adult at home in la République du Cameroun”.

Ambazonian Collaboration: Building Bridges and Locking Arms for Liberation | Ambazonia News

Ambazonian Flag

As La République du Cameroun prepares to run the gauntlet of charades and hide-and-seek, trying to prove that they can “celebrate” 20th May in Ambazonia, so what?, Ambazonia should be celebrating the first signs of collaboration among the various Ambazonian Independentist Entities. The news was first broken by IG President Marianta when, in her address to the APP on 11/5/24, she revealed that she had contacted all the major leaders to a common position on the likely lockdown to counter the LRC charade. She said she had talk to most and received text replies from those she had not spoken to.

The upshot is that even if they issue separate lockdown declarations, they will have the same dates and durations. Ambazonia News believes this is worth celebrating if it avails as it would be the first fruit to accrue from the Building Bridges policy, marking the hopeful launch pad to further and more meaningful collaboration in other areas to lead to the practical reality of the liberation of Ambazonia.

The IG believes that Ambazonia’s Liberation can be actualised more quickly by presenting a reality on the ground. That reality would start with Ambazonian education from Community Schools to other higher education institutions run by the Ambazonian Communities and separate and independent from La République du Cameroun’s influence or interference. A critical mass in this sector would leave the international community with no choice but to accept that reality. It would convince our citizens that Ambazonia is theirs and secure the social progression that every Amazonian parent has always wanted for their children. It would be immeasurably empowering and lead to swift decolonization which would cascade into other sectors.

This can happen if the Ambazonian independentist Entities all undertake to pursue that goal in areas they control, locking arms to drive out all La République du Cameroun vestiges. Belief is needed. Trust and reliance on the common objectives and motives of fellow independentists would lock in our determination in our external self-determination once and for all.

So Ambazonia News is inviting all leaders to contact others to start brain-storming and thinking blue-sky thinking. Thinking is what will drive La République out and have us ready to face the challenge of building the nation we want.

The next opportunity to keep communication lines open will be the Ambazonian Collaboration Team’s Townhall on 18/5/24.

We have endured the worst of La République du Cameroun and it is time to leap.

The Most High God remains the Watchman of our Nation. Ambazonia is here.

Ambazonians beware! Kamto ignores HCB 28/92 in trojan horse post.

Ambazonian Flag

Renowned La République du Cameroun law academic and politician Maurice Kamto has wadded into the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle with a social media post in which he reheats the “wrong federalist” argument that “massive voter registration” in La République du Cameroun’s presidential election will “allow” Ambazonians, who he calls “anglophones”, to “exercise their self-determination by voting” in that “election”. In a previous post, Ambazonia News discussed the similarly blue-sky ideas of certain naïve federalists in suggesting that opinion polling could cause change “within” La République du Cameroun, which could facilitate the return of a federation by demonstrating the people’s preference.

On the face of it, Prof. Kamto’s post sounds “reasonable” and if we are wondering why it even needs to be made as an “offer”, then that is the paradox and where the offer damns itself, for it implies that “democracy” is a special offer in La République du Cameroun! To his credit, Prof Kamto, is ,therefore, acknowledging our [Ambazonian] experience of the lack of democracy in La République du Cameroun, where we do not even legally belong, and, therefore do not have to endure the abuses of what Prof. Kamto calls a “brutal, autocratic, kleptocratic” regime which has “mishandled the reunification”.

Prof. Kamto himself has spent the current “grand projects term” protesting a stolen vote in the last La République du Cameroun presidential election of 2018, so even if Ambazonians were gullible enough to fall for his “offer”, there would be no precedent to base any faith on, that their votes would “count”, or what would accrue if those votes did somehow count. There is no “consensual electoral system” in La République du Cameroun, even for their own citizens as Prof. Kamto himself has often lamented, so Ambazonians would have to be gullible indeed to suppose that they could achieve any self-determination through a La République du Cameroun-organised vote, already disowned by their own citizens, including principally the gentleman advocating such a folly! Prof. Kamto would appear to be asking Ambazonians to replay the mistakes of the past by diving head-first into an ill-defined “association” merely in the “hope that it will turn out alright as we are brothers”! Ambazonians, you have learnt from those mistakes at high and continuing cost. Do you want La République du Cameroun militia firing into school-bound traffic, or even controlling such traffic? In what country on the planet would such victims spurn the opportunity to break free from such a fix?

But that is not all. There are more fundamental legal issues at play to do with the Bamenda High Court ruling, HCB 28/92, a fact which makes Prof. Kamto’s apparent offer more threatening, compounded by his renown as lawyer. HCB 28/92 ruled that La République du Cameroun is/was “forcefully and illegally occupying Southern Cameroons, unless La République du Cameroun showed just cause”. La République du Cameroun has never addressed, appealed or tackled the ruling in any way other than through “force”, even before the recent seven year period of heightened genocidal acts in Southern Cameroons by her militias.

HCB 28/92 says, in so many words, that La République du Cameroun and Ambazonia are separate nations on the basis of La République du Cameroun having had her international borders set in 1960, and reaffirmed same in 1984, thereby releasing Southern Cameroons from the unratified process of a “federation of equal states” engaged in 1961. As long as La République du Cameroun is called La République du Cameroun, it has those borders and zero right to any Ambazonian territory -economic, social or political. In fact, better still, it does not matter if La République du Cameroun changes her name, for it is now like we are in the plebiscite campaign period when decisions could not be made for either La République du Cameroun or Southern Cameroons except by those separate peoples themselves, separately.

La République du Cameroun citizens were not allowed to vote in the plebiscite and they are not allowed to vote today in Ambazonia or offer Ambazonians a vote in La République du Cameroun! Ambazonia regained the right to her own destiny in 1984 and her citizens do not need to be offered any thing in La République du Cameroun’s political system. What’s more, the value of such an “offer” to take take part in an illegal election under an electoral system, he himself rejects, and when Ambazonia has a righteous legal and moral cause is frankly disingenuous and nebulous.

The real danger and loss if any Ambazonians fall for this wooden horse would be that they provide the fig-leaf/thread of “representation” by which La République du Cameroun’s forceful occupation hangs over Ambazonia. Is it possible Prof. Kamto can make this “offer” not because he expects to win the La République du Cameroun election but because he is one of the La République du Cameroun class of “gouvernants” who want to continue pillaging Southern Cameroons and their own country on behalf of a foreign manipulative colonial power?

Ambazonians beware! It is not your vote that they want! They just want to be able to say you are represented in their system so that they can continue to exploit you as they have always done. Reject this “offer” and La République du Cameroun will have to leave so that you can run your own country and benefit from your own efforts and hard work. It is not even a realistic offer as it is illegal under international law for La République du Cameroun to try to organise their elections on Ambazonian territory.

Please recall that there is a Presidential Executive Order reminding Ambazonians of their freedom to shun La République du Cameroun’s make-believe.

Advancing the Ambazonian Cause

Ambazonian Flag

In 2023 large a segment of the Ambazonian community was subjected to various schemes on how to find a peaceful solution to the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle.

By definition “the” solution to a liberation struggle can only be liberation. And yet many of the afore-mentioned schemes dwelled on the nebulous idea of a negotiated settlement with the opaque notion of “inclusivity” which implied Ambazonians should include the whole spectrum from the ARF+ actively risking their lives to expel La République du Cameroun, to “federalists”.  While it was ultimately self-defeating to attempt to build a mass of squabbling parties hardly able to agree among themselves on what to negotiate for, that was not the weakest point of most of those schemes. Some of them sought to be more “inclusive” by including “unionists” in order to prove how much more “reasonable” than La République du Cameroun Ambazonians are! Yes, they tried, in earnest, to sell the idea that unionists, who one would not imagine tolerating a label of “Ambazonian”, should be part of conferences to form Ambazonian “positions” to take to the ” international community ” to take to La République du Cameroun to compel her to “to grant” a referendum to allow “all” Ambazonians to decide. Not only has the international community kept their counsel even in the face of shootings of toddlers on their way to school, for one and various other atrocities, it is also clear that La République du Cameroun has no legal status nor inclination to proceed as the schemers proposed. Why would they give up the simpler and more straightforward opportunity to pacify a relatively small protest, burning diplomatic bridges subsequently and then “grant” more than they would have had to earlier and at lower cost? Granted, it is theoretically possible when a state of “mutually harmful stalemate” is reached but that is, to say the least, remote; and, in fact only undermined by a naïve coalition with the fail-assured feature of trying to get La République’s allies to “help” draw up a “possible” negotiation strategy on behalf of Ambazonia.

Those schemes have accrued what logic dictated they “could” – no progress towards any solution. La République du Cameroun spent the year trying to prove “normalcy”, another of those typically La République du Cameroun words, had returned. “Normalcy” is the unjust, unfair, nepotistic, corrupt system in which Ambazonians were rooted to the base of a proxy colonial hegemony which hardly benefitted any of the “subjects” of La République du Cameroun, but gave them the illusion of being better off than “Les Bamendas”.

They thought if they could convince the nebulous international community that they had a corrupt stable system they could avoid criticism. As absurd as the strategy was it was more logical than the idea of an inclusive Ambazonian coalition for negotiation. After all some experts pointed out that referenda are normally requested by “state parties”, in our case, that meant La République du Cameroun would tremble at the consensus of our coalition and ask the international community to run a referendum for us.

Cynics would suggest the conference fiver season was a time wasting scheme to try to dampen the momentum of the liberation struggle.

It did not work …

How should/could the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle be advanced from here?

Given that La République du Cameroun is not looking like negotiating anytime soon, preferring to rely on out-waiting Ambazonia it is time to move on, and moving on is relatively straightforward in its meaning. Ambazonians need to start actively exercising their independence by running their own affairs.

One domain where this should be propagated is education. Ambazonian Community Institutions need to expand. It was already always the case that schools in Ambazonia were paid for by the community even when “created” by La République du Cameroun’s empirical edict.

There are thousands of Community schools in Ambazonia where the running and management is Ambazonian. They need to go the extra final step and implement the Ambazonian Curriculum and Ambazonian School calendar. Those two steps would notify the international community more than any perfectly crafted negotiating position that any coalition could device if the conferences were to take place. Those acts would also break the “waiting” state that Ambazonian citizens have been in during the Liberation Struggle by assuring all Ambazonian parents of their children’s normal and continued development – the well known ambition of all Ambazonian parents.

The third strand in the education battle would be certification and all Ambazonian Entities vying for independence should don their thinking hearts and device a way to by-pass any La République du Cameroun involvement in assessment and certification. Even before the Liberation Struggle La République du Cameroun’s involvement had diluted and trashed our children’s certificates to the point where even after taking post-sixteen exams in English they still needed to take language assessments before they could be admitted to higher education abroad. That problem would therefore be solved with the knowledge that Ambazonian assessments have the integrity that La République du Cameroun systems singularly lack – quite apart from the desire for independence.

In summary Ambazonia’s future is in Ambazonian hands to do.

The Most High God continues to be our Watchman and will inspire
