ACT in Southern Cameroons, Ambazonia Consultation

The SCAC is an internationally mentored and supported effort by various Ambazonian Independentist entities to coalesce the plethora of conference initiatives into one logical inclusive conference of Ambazonians.

Unlike the SCPC the conference that should accrue from the SCAC will be one for independentist entities by design.

ACT entities believe in Ambazonian independence and would concentrate on coalescing Ambazonian groups. At the very least SCAC will boast transparency in being upfront about the Ambazonian Coalition’s unity on the common purpose -independence.

Given that La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun still needs to be convinced to come to the table Ambazonia News believes that any Ambazonia-side concessions such as might be interpreted from the vague phrase “peace and justice” plays straight into La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun’s game plan of offering a “special status” and waiting to continue the assimilation attempt, to which their President confessed. Ambazonians should rely on the righteousness of their cause and ignore what is not even a promise of a negotiation but the trick of dangling the threat of “missing the opportunity to negotiate” – with a party which has chickened out of two negotiation opportunities! They have disowned the Swiss Process with a flimsy excuse that the old dictator had managed to hold off international sanctions by semi-engaging in the process. They then provided the counter-argument themselves by attending the Canada pre-talks before, again disowning them in a more desperately clumsy way by having a public spat with the head of Global Affairs Canada! In spite of the diplomatic faux pas sources close to the pre-talks have not definitively given up on the the idea of an eventual Canadian mediation, hence, for instance the previous play on the idea of “preparing for a referendum” by some Southern Cameroons entities – as distinct from Ambazonian Independentists, who while accepting the idea of a referendum, see it as a remote future prospect to come only after the [Ambazonian Independentists] have “dragged La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun to the negotiation table”.

At Ambazonia News we believe that the threat Ambazonia faces is that of letting our Liberation Struggle lose momentum and collapse while we foolishly fall for the trick of being secluded in a talking shop to the exclusion of what progressed Ambazonia this far – a hostile environment for La Rรฉpublique and her allies of the fifth column or foreign interests on our land.

Ambazonia News encourages all Ambazonians to join the Consultation to ensure our future is based on their voices.

SCPC – What will come of the scpc?

Ambazonian Flag

The scpc is said to be an opportunity for all Southern Cameroonians to demonstrate a unity of purpose in an inclusive gathering.

Ambazonia News has already questioned the meaning of the unity of purpose given than scpc seems to be going out of its way to make concessions even before the conference itself, never mind the remote possibility of LRC coming to the table.

Whatever the outcome of the SCPC Ambazonia will prevail as we all know Ambazonia has risen to fall no more. However Ambazonia News invites members of the organising committee to imagine what will happen on the morrow of the conference.

Assuming the best happens and the delegates somehow demonstrate a unity of purpose what is going to compel LRC to come to the table. Are there any indications that LRC is poised to engage in negotiations if only Ambazonians would demonstrate a unity of purpose?

The answer is no. Ambazonia News can safely conclude no by observing the activities of the fifth column in Ambazonia. On 11th August 2023 the “PM, Head of Gov’t” of LRC was in our capital city “to review the implementations of the recommendations” of the do-called GND.

During the same week another fifth columnist reached for the imaginary division between the people from the north of Ambazonia and their fellow countrymen from the south of Ambazonia. He lamented the take over of the bushes as well as โ€œthe order from abroad”, all without any hint of irony in a county which has handed over a while commercial city to the foreigners from LRC along with the power of life and death to foreigners who tauntingly call themselves “chefs de terre”. He did not consider the multitude of orders from abroad which have resulted in burnt homes, murdered school children in morning school-run traffic, murder pregnant women and children, murdered Ambazonian youths merely suspected of being “separatists” even when those murders are proudly announced as “neutralisations”.

As is common with all fifth columnists all the words could be repeated to describe the actions of their foreign patrons. Their time is looming. It is only getting clearer who the collaborating enablers are in Ambazonia.

These activities belie any idea that the conclusion of the SCPC, even if it manages to “demonstrate a unity of purpose”, would bring “justice and peace” in any form. It certainly couldn’t bring Ambazonian Independence, which to be fair is not an apparent aim of the SCPC.

What then is the purpose of the SCPC and do all the participants really subscribe to that purpose? Is their jaunt to Canada a value for money action to advance the righteous Ambazonian cause?

Ambazonia News implores the stakeholders to reflect on their actions. Posterity will and we must all hope that the assessment will be positive.

The Most High God is our Watchman in Ambazonia.

SCPC: Security for G0 attendees?

Ambazonian Flag

Ambazonia News continues the sequence on the Southern Cameroons People’s Conference by looking at the issue of security for G0 attendees. Earlier during the build up in the era of the Southern Cameroons Stakeholder Platform several venues were considered with an eye on security and in view of the fate of the Nera 10, the core of the IG who were abducted and illegally rendered from Nigeria. At the time Ghana was suggested as a safer location.

There seemed to be a focus on the immediate danger of being abducted then, and now, moving the venue to Canada would appear to be on a similar narrow basis.  What Ambazonia News would like the organising committee to consider is what happens when any G0 participants return to occupied Ambazonia.  Can they attend and return to Ambazonia without consequences, quite apart from the costs?

Mention must be made of Abdul Karim Ali who is now in arbitrary detention merely for being part of Ambazonian Collaboration Team. He is entering his second year and there has not been an outcry from the international community, whose approval is presumably being sought through the demonstration of “unity of purpose”, towards which, the SCPC is geared. Just to be clear, the danger for any credible independentist participants from ground zero would not be abduction but that they could be rounded up at LRC’s convenience hence it would be somewhat callous, if not reckless, of Conference to simply assume

SCPC also promises a seat for representatives of Ambazonian prisoners. Ambazonia News would be wary of exposing them to reprisals especially while they are captives of LRC.

Ambazonia will prevail. Whatever comes from the SCPC, should not significantly affect the fact of Ambazonian Independence.

The Most High God is our Watchman and our faith will see us through .

Look up the here for the:

SCPC – updates; some signatories unaware and not content.

Ambazonian Flag

When Ambazonia News reported the plan for the SCPC in Canada from 5th October to 8th October 2023, several aspects were/are unclear and unresolved in our minds. We raised those questions and invited participating members of the SCPC Organising Committee to comment to clarify. We also proposed to issue our own op-ed on each of the questions, the main aim being to provoke the participants to reflect properly and confidently on all aspects of the SCPC.

Ambazonia News can now report that at least two of the signatories of the document about the All Ambazonia Conference 2023 which, presumably evolved to the SCPC, have expressed reservations about the use of their signatures on the SCPC web site. As a minimum, they were unaware, having changed their views about some of the evolution and the parties involved in the SCPC setup. Of paramount importance among the reservations was the realisation that some of the key players in SCPC were opaque, that is not listed as participants, and non-independentists, that is having chosen “neutral” as their posture on the question of Ambazonian Independence from La Republique du Cameroun.

Ambazonia News has mentioned a self-declared “neutral” NGO which is deeply involved. The big question would be whether any Ambazonian entity could reasonably declare itself neutral even to an Ambazonian audience and still be entrusted with aspects of developing a unity of purpose.

As separate statements are expected from the aggrieved parties Ambazonia News is reserving the responses until they can be published unredacted.

We are still open to views and opinions from all the participating entities. All that Ambazonia News would expect is that they declare whether they are independentist and whether they are content for the SCPC to exclude that word from all of its publicity.

Ambazonia has risen and never to fall.

SCPC – What is the common purpose if not independence?

Ambazonian Flag

Since Ambazonia News reported the SCPC raised the five initial questions for the groups on the list of participants, two of the signatories of the AAC2023 letter have made it clear they are not in with the current SCPC’s use of that document in the present context. They particularly object and are uneasy about the role of the NGO which is believed to be behind the organisation of the SCPC but seems to keep their name out, and have previously claimed to be neutral, in the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle, at the same time as letting it be said that they are Ambazonian!

In this post Ambazonia News explores the second question which is about the absence of the word “independence” from the SCPC publicity materials on the website. Coincidentally that raises questions about the “neutral” posture mentioned in the last paragraph. In any case Ambazonia News believes the tone and content of the SCPC should belong to the entire organising committee and therefore it is up to them to ensure the publicity material and information all meet their needs.

Common sense would have it that any entities embarking on “creating and demonstrating unity of purpose” in the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle could safely assume that every entity would be for independence. Indeed it would not be an assumption as that was the main established stance in Canada. It, therefore, seems odd that the SCPC is making a concession on Ambazonian aspirations well before La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun even enters the scene. Of course it cannot be excluded that this is just an oversight but that would be a big one. Ambazonia News expects that most participating movements or entities would pick up on such details as they tend to build up and before they realise it they have signed up to a watered down project even before La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun turns up, if they do!

It goes without saying that what they line up to, be it the publicity of the conference or any resolutions defines their positions for posterity so the organising committee must consider their integrity and ensure that if the conference holds, that it is value for Ambazonia. It would be tragic for any members to cobble together a compromise agenda even before the conference, never mind that the conference itself is several years from any possible negotiations with La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun.

Ambazonians need to be confident in the righteousness of their cause and proud to display it openly. The international community does not own our rights and cannot “award” us what we are not confident enough to fund, fight and free our homeland to attain.

The Most High God remains the Watchman of our nation and will guide those taking part with clarity of thought and integrity.

SCPC Canada – Who pays and is that value for money for the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle?

Ambazonian Flag

Ambazonia News is looking at the logic of the unfortunately named Southern Cameroons People’s Conference slated for the first week of October 2023 in Canada.

The first concern is the value of the fares. The website states that there is going to provision for seats at the table for representations from G0, G1 and G2.

One of the first questions raised by Ambazonia News was the source of the funds for fares and costs for the delegates to attend the conference.

Admittedly, the cost is not everything but it has to be clear that the objectives of the conference can be achieved by deploying Ambazonian resources in that way, for at the moment, Ambazonian disposable resources are mainly the financial and material sacrifices that Ambazonians are able to make. So even the delegates paying for themselves are logically deploying those Ambazonian resources.

In that view, it is fair to question whether paying to attend for a week in a conference in Canada will be the best option for the Diaspora’s Complementary Commitment.

There are at least two reasons why it is not.

  1. The first is that La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun is not compelled to alter her stance whatever the conference decides. Even if the conference “demonstrates a unity of purpose”, a concept which Ambazonia News does not feel needs to be demonstrated, nor can we identify who it should be demonstrated to, it would not induce La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun to make any concessions, never mind moving an inch towards the Ambazonian “purpose”. It is counter-intuitive that having gone to the trouble of committing war-crimes, genocide and diplomatic faux pas just to stop anyone mentioning federation, then La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun would tremble at the resolutions of the SCPC. The reality is that La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun has been trying to out-wait Ambazonians in the hope that the Liberation Struggle would lose momentum and dissipate. In that case, they [La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun] would achieve their objectives quite nicely, thank you. They may not, and would not say so, but everything points to this strategy – and they insisted in Canada that they preferred to treat the “negotiation” as an “internal dialogue” before then disowning it publicly. The effect of those actions was that many “peace-seeking Southern Cameroonians” emerged onto the scene with the plausible “too much suffering argument”. At first, they dangled the idea of a referendum, even though it quickly emerged that a referendum would only happen if La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun requested it, even if and only if they felt they could not longer tolerate/afford the war! The logic of this was that La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun would need to be pushed to the point of not being able to continue the war – ie, deploying Ambazonian resources towards G0, rather than on diaspora conference/meeting expenses. As any reasonable Ambazonian would expect to win a referendum, it was a nifty way to divert resources. The question now for any SCPC participant is to establish for themselves whether their attendance in Canada in October, even if it managed to establish a “unity of purpose” would advance the Liberation Struggle any. Is that the best way of spending their resources, even if they are “sponsored”? Why don’t the sponsors sponsor action instead until La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun is unable to tolerate the cost of the war?
  2. In one of the Southern Cameroons Stake-holder presentations a certain expert explained that the international community would not intervene with La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun until they judged that both La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun and Ambazonia had reached a Mutually Harmful Stalemate – that is a state where neither party could tolerate the cost of the struggle, where both would be more likely to negotiate and compromise. This removes the idea that “demonstrating a unity of purpose”, Ambazonia News imagines, to the nebulous “international community” would push said “international community to apply any pressure on La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun, even if they can see that La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun is not at the Mutually Harmful Stalemate! The logic here points to deploying Ambazonian resources towards reaching the Mutually Harmful Stalemate for La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun as a better option.

Ambazonia News thinks that if La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun had a choice they would prefer Southern Cameroonians to spend their resources going to a conference to demonstrate their unity of purpose, rather than actively demonstrating their unity of purpose by funding the actual Liberation Struggle on G0.

The saying that “Ambazonia is God-ordained” is not idle. Even if the SCPC holds the conference, Ambazonia News expects our Liberation Struggle to survive and thrive. There is no other choice.

It would be very important and critical to establish after the conference that the solution is to pursue the Liberation Struggle through Action and Accountability on the ground. No matter how disheartening it becomes, we the Ambazonians remember:

  • The school girl shot in Buea
  • The school girl shot in Bamenda
  • The Ngarbuh Massacre
  • The Big Babanki massacre
  • The hundreds of villages burnt … among so many other cues that we have no choice but to break off from La Rรฉpublique du Cameroun and own our destiny and inheritance.

The Most High God continues to be the Watchman of Ambazonia.
