Team Ambazonia issues latest press release on consultation between independentists…

As la République du Cameroun lurches towards chaos, Team Ambazonia, the Ambazonia Consultative Commission continues much-needed consultations to keep channels open between supposedly divided Ambazonian Liberation Movements.

They are not that divided! The reason for the collapse of the tentative negotiation processes is that “there is no adult at home in la République du Cameroun”.

The SCPC Resolutions – the good points and the bad points.

Ambazonian Flag

The Good points

The good points of the SCPC are self-evident and common with all the other efforts geared towards harnessing the collective efforts of all Ambazonians to effect “self-determination”. While others may have narrowed down their definition of self-determination, it has to be underlined that SCPC has left it as wide as possible, more on which later. The use of “EXTERNAL self-determination” could have transitioned this apparently good point to a good point though.

SCPC condemned the atrocities, in various forms, committed by La République du Cameroun against Southern Cameroons, resolved “continue to demand the release of all prisoners or conscience”, “condemned La République du Cameroun’s culture of impunity, which dehumanises Southern Cameroonians”… among other statements of the crimes committed by La République du Cameroun.

SCPC also outlined the twin aspects of the oft-quoted “root causes” to the failure of the UN in its decolonisation duties and the “bad faith of La République du Cameroun” in breaking their word and commitments subsequent to the 1961 plebiscite.

“Affirmed Southern Cameroonians’ right to self-defence”

These resolutions do not bind any Ambazonian to anything and could bring some good – but hopefully no lasting harm.

The Bad.

The SCPC did not choose to be the APC though nearly a third of the “signatories” are “Ambazonian” by name and several of the G0 “signatories” are “Ambazonian” by act – of fighting for independence of Ambazonia.

SCPC did not deem it politic to plumb for “EXTERNAL self-determination” never mind “independence”. Maybe the conference actually resolved that way, but it is very unlikely that all those entities who “put” their names on the resolutions settled for such vagueries. Did they all really think they should avoid the word “independence”, and then the phrase “external self-determination”? This language matters as it could be argued to buttress La République du Cameroun’s insistence that she is dealing with an internal problem by “granting” concessions.

In parroting the “condemnations” of the international community SCPC is casting itself as a helpless victim, at best, who needs and depends on the kind intervention of the international community, and at worst a supplicant to the same La République du Cameroun, who, after six decades of deliberate acts with a confessed aim to assimilate and destroy cultural identity of Southern Cameroonians, are somehow expected to heed the “appeal to stop”.

This supplicant posture carries on in the analysis of the two aspects of the “root causes”, where despite the “international community’s” history of failing Southern Cameroons, they are being appealed to without “any motivation”. What about pointing out the “bad faith” of La République du Cameroun in complicit guilt with the failings of the UN and then setting up preparations for “negotiations” not only without any mutuality, but seemingly reliant on their latter-day good faith and the international community’s?

La République du Cameroun can bring this document to the international community to show that Southern Cameroonians are begging for a negotiation and ask for time to deal with it internally.

La République du Cameroun’s culture of impunity is “condemned” as it should be but what has it got to do with a country fighting for its independence? If La République du Cameroun promise, hand-on heart to launch investigations to punish whoever, would that fool Ambazonians? (sorry Southern Cameroonians?)

The oddest part of the resolutions is that SCPC has appropriated onto itself the role of negotiator for the people of Southern Cameroons, who it also presumes to represent but chooses to assume a supplicant posture. This act belies the tone of the resolutions where a certain “harmless victim persona” contrasts sharply with the bold reach to grasp the mantle of representative!

And yet that is not all…one entity’s name is missing though its finger prints are all over the resolutions – and that is probably the biggest problem. It is time for Ambazonian entities to stop keeping themselves secret or acting timid so-called for the benefit of “the international community”. Is it really for the benefit of the international community?

It would appear it is as safe for SCPC to take Ambazonia for granted as it is for La République du Cameroun to do – even tame supplicant SCPC does not hesitate to assign itself the posts of “negotiator” and coordinator all while avoiding “independence” and even “EXTERNAL self-determination” for Ambazonia!

Fortuitous Fact-Check

By coincidence Ambazonia News was in a meeting where the question of “who is an Ambazonian?” was addressed. As The Most High God would have it, the personality addressing that question happened to have been a delegate at SCPC. They made it clear that an Ambazonians is primarily, in the current situation, someone who fights for Ambazonian independence. By contrast, it is well known that the invisible entity behind the SCPC defines Ambazonians as “people born in Southern Cameroons”, in a bid to appear “inclusive”. That delegate, responding to follow up questions, declared they had not seen the resolutions and that they had expected the theme of “independence” to be central, alongside “referendum” as a way of getting the Ambazonian people’s sovereign choice. Neither of these are in the current document, nor even the milder “EXTERNAL self-determination”.

Yet another delegate was more dismissive of the SCPC, questioning how people living in La République du Cameroun had been able to attend the SCPC in Canada in person and go back. Ambazonia News is reserving some of the assertions that accompanied this contributor’s statements.

What to do About SCPC?

If you were a delegate and/or signatory or implied signatory, you need to read it and ensure you agree. After reading, if you wish to exercise a right to reply please head to ambazonia.news and submit a comment or send comments through WhatsApp.

If you were not a delegate you similarly have a right to comment on the resolutions on whether you give SCPC permission to represent you as they propose and/or on the basis they propose. It is important! Your silence will be taken as consent!

For our part Ambazonia News is confident that even if SCPC turns out to be a LIMBE Horse its sheer inconsistencies will overwhelm it as The Most High God is the Watchman of Ambazonia. SCPC mentions 1984, presumably La République du Cameroun’s secession decree. The good point for Ambazonia is that that decree reverted LRC to its 1960 borders and liberated Ambazonia (also called Southern Cameroons) from the already unsigned-off and majorly breached-and-invalidated “union”. The upshot is that no resolution of the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle could be considered, embarked upon or contemplated, other than from the basis of two states – as if we were in the plebiscite campaign period, except now, with the benefit of hind sight of how the “expected loose association with La République du Cameroun could turn”. It is worth reading HCB 28/92 – the Bamenda High Court ruling in Ambazonia Vs La République du Cameroun.

IG President Marianta Njomia addresses the fallacy of disunity in Independence-Day address.

Ambazonian Flag

Speaking on the eve of Independence Day 2023 President Marianta Njomia raised the issues of silent complicity of the international community in the face of intolerable genocidal acts by La Republique du Cameroun. She encouraged Ambazonian citizens to continue to support the ARF+ in driving out the occupying forces and agents of La Republique du Cameroun. Even if all Ambazonian Independentists united, she argued, the international community would still wait for a mutually harmful stalemate, which could only be hastened by the actions of the ARF+ on ground.

She asserted that contrary to popular statements Ambazonian Independentist entities have been resolute every time their unity of purpose had come under examination, twice, in front of international witnesses, spontaneously asserting their uniform objective of independence for Ambazonia.

While it is true that Ambazonian Independentist entities have diverse methods it is unfair to continue to excuse La République du Cameroun’s crimes, or even tolerate them while calling for Ambazonia to show unity. There is no country where all the citizens are required to have only one political view!

The president pointed to the killings of two school children in school traffic, shot by uniformed agents of La République du Cameroun, as examples of acts which ought to have incurred the wrath of the international community regardless of whether Ambazonian entities were united or not.

The president stopped short of warning that the clamour for “unity” conferences risked diverting attention from the needful on G0, or worse, dissipating the momentum of the Liberation Struggle to La République du Cameroun’s advantage.

Read the transcript of the address below:

Text of the speech:
Fellow Ambazonians,
After seven years of our Liberation Struggle we can see how we have progressed towards our GOALS (the God-Ordained Ambazonian Liberation Struggle!)
We the Ambazonians pledge our loyalty.

We pause to pay our respects to the fallen heroes of Ambazonia over the last six decades as well as to acknowledge the efforts of the ARF+, who have, since 2/Sept/23, been engaged in The Daring Move. I hereby call on all Ambazonians to show their Complementary Commitment to our Ambazonian Liberation Struggle by supporting their counties’ and the rest of our nation’s ARF+ in The Daring Move.

Throughout the six decades of Southern Cameroons,  Ambazonia,  it was always the case that at any juncture there was only a quality few who only wanted La République du Cameroun to implement reforms to improve the lot of Southern Cameroonians, which, it turns out were already recognised and recommended by the African Commission way back in 2003 ( Communication No 266/2003 of the African Commission on Human and People’s Rights.)

In the late nineteen fifties despite different methods and ideologies, our forefathers, dismayed at the lack of true representation, left the The British UN Trusteeship of Nigeria. They achieved self-governance with a proper multi-party system.
When we started it was only a quality few who only wanted improvements at each stage. In the late nineteen fifties despite different methods and ideologies, our forefathers, dismayed at the lack of true representation, left the Nigerian trusteeship. They achieved self-governance with a proper multi-party system.
When independence came, unjust though the process was, there was a vibrant discussion in civility among the different parties of our nation. Our then leaders did the responsible and accepted the vote as a method to decide and threw in our nation’s lot with the Federation of East and West Cameroon, subject to established pre-conditions.

Almost immediately some quality few could see the flaws, as the pre-conditions were roundly flouted, and stood up to be counted. They endured harsh political imprisonment and other inhumane treatments at the hands of the East Cameroun authorities but their aim, to ensure our identity survived, was achieved.
In addition to our quality few, Ambazonia has always had The Most High God as our Watchman. East Cameroun declined to seal our nation into the Cameroun Federation, thereby leaving us at liberty to reconsider at our convenience in the future. Of course, this depended on the assimilation failing and here again how could we explain how badly the assimilation went than that The Most High God, our Watchman, was at work? East Cameroon’s scheme was to assimilate but rather than make Southern Cameroonians (West Cameroonians) feel at home and among “brothers”, they set up a counter-productive system of discrimination and exclusion whose only possible aim would be to alienate and distance Southern Cameroonians from “their purported brothers” of East Cameroon.  The effect was far from assimilating West Cameroon as the progressive discrimination, exclusion, tribalism, corruption … and you name it, conveyed the clear message that West Cameroonians (Former Southern Cameroonians) had no place in the “Federal or United” Republic of Cameroon.
As if that was not enough, in 1984 East Cameroun decided to break cover and secede from the forged “federation”, a treaty void federation! Well, that was the implication of re-naming the then United Republic of Cameroun to La République du Cameroun as it effectively reverted La République du Cameroun to its borders at independence in 1960 as per the statutes of the African Union charter on human and peoples’ rights. Even this was a reaction to the actions of a quality few Southern Cameroonians who bravely sought redress at the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR). What are the odds? A handful of quality people managed to get the Commission to rule that Southern Cameroonians, later Ambazonians, were a people with the right to external self-determination. Though those few only wanted reforms to ensure equality of opportunity, justice and recognition, it is remarkable how well they fared. The Commission recommended reforms to improve the lot of Southern Cameroonians (and East Cameroonians) but the East Cameroun government decided they needed to enforce “unity”! They all along miscalculated that the quality few Southern Cameroonians, despite prevailing against La République du Cameroun in an international court, could be ignored and that paper “unity” was better than the “unity reforms” the Commission had recommended!

How few is one? The next of the few in the sequence was the one and only Gorji Dinka, KC, who for his part underwent biblical torture to establish for the record that 1984 was in fact a secession by La République du Cameroun and, therefore, that not only were Ambazonians “a people” but that they had a country of their own with sovereignty just for the claiming. HCB 28/92 lives for ever on record to establish that the destiny of Ambazonians is with Ambazonians and not in the purview of La République du Cameroun. So “Grand National Dialogue” and “special status” and any other costume balls in La République du Cameroun are their things with no legal or other binding power over Ambazonia. As HCB 28/92 says “La République du Cameroun is illegally and forcibly occupying Ambazonia”. The “GOALS”, The God-ordained Ambazonian Liberation Struggle, is righteous. Any comments from La République du Cameroun are noise! If they wish to withdraw in an orderly fashion and be good neighbours in future that is the negotiation.
It is inconceivable that after the last seven years of visiting all forms of repellent crimes on our people that they would imagine that they have any future association or cohabitation with Ambazonia! Of course, we have a common border which we cannot help, but that is it.
That brings us to the ludicrous “arguments” ongoing among Ambazonian entities.

First of all, how any entity which calls itself Ambazonian could be entertaining discussions about Federation with La République du Cameroun is a text-book paradox. La République du Cameroun started the current spate of killings and intimidation partly to dissuade all from using the word “federation” so it would take some contortions for an Ambazonian entity to square that even if their intention is to be seen as “inclusive”.

The reality is that it does not matter how inclusive we, the Ambazonians, are when it comes to those ideas of federation and any links to La République du Cameroun! It does not fit for any party to be Ambazonian and have “federalist” members or, worse, entertain “unionists” who happen to have been born in Ambazonia! Where does it go? Has La République du Cameroun offered anyone federation or is it really so obvious that certain naive are “preparing to negotiate federation” with the people who are willing to kill school children and pregnant women to stop the mere use of the word “federation”?

It is now common knowledge that La République du Cameroun has ventured into a “dialogue” of sorts twice and each time Ambazonian parties have demonstrated a unity of purpose which leaves no doubt and need not be proved through any conferences.  The unity Ambazonia needs is the drive to expel La République du Cameroun from our land and that will be achieved through appropriate action at the appropriate location. The appropriate location is not several thousand miles away and appropriate action is certainly not navel gazing discussions about hypothetical negotiations with a foe who has disowned at least two potential negotiation opportunities.  Are Ambazonians proposing to make concessions to show that “federalists” and “unionists” form part of our “unity of purpose” and expecting to get “any negotiation”?

La République du Cameroun has a very weak-to-zero negotiating position at this juncture where more and more Ambazonians should and are getting to know about HCB 28/92 ruling, especially when La République du Cameroun is doing their utmost to repel and alienate even the naïve “federalists”.

Conferences will come at an appropriate time when, like our forefathers, we will work in our diverse independentist entities to ensure our nation functions justly for all our citizens.  For now our unity of purpose is cemented on the total and unconditional independence for Ambazonia and that relies on the obvious, Daring Moves to expel La République du Cameroun from our land.

To the international community:

The apparent misguided perception of disunity of Ambazonian entities, quoted by the international community as a weakness, is a strength which has ensured that the Ambazonian Liberation Struggle has survived all La République du Cameroun attempts to undermine it. The diverse methods of Ambazonian entities have not affected their unity of purpose when it comes to the essential – the total and unconditional independence of Ambazonia. We would challenge the international community’s callous calm when faced with, for example, the killings of two nursery school children in two different locations over a fortnight in the absence of any Ambazonian Restoration Forces and the several killings of harmless and helpless civilians, such as pregnant women and children in villages, notably in Ngarbuh on Valentine’s day 2020. This lack of concern was all the more disturbing considering the reports and experiences of international human rights groups such as Human Rights Watch and MSF at the hands of La République du Cameroun.

While it is “obvious” that “unity” would help our cause, it is not fair to promote or propagate the idea that we are not united. This has helped La République du Cameroun to continue to try to out-wait the Ambazonians and engage certain fringes of the fifth column to orchestrate prevarication and self-blame, which all undermine our focus and increases the magnitude and volume of the genocidal crimes they visit on our people, who have continued to demonstrate their unity by abstaining from La République du Cameroun control for the past seven years, on at least a weekly basis.

We should refuse to fall prey to the illogical rhetoric of “Ambazonians need to be united for the International Community to intervene to stop the killings or suffering of our people”

We need to ask ourselves whether our so-called lack of unity justifies the impunity with which La République is able to commit those genocidal acts on our citizens. Is that the idea the international community wants to sell?  That they will not tackle La République du Cameroun for the killings of nursery school children by their agents firing live rounds into school-run traffic because until Ambazonians are “united”? Our answers to all these questions would be “No!” and we, the Ambazonians are left with but the one option which is to go it alone and let the international community live with their consciences as we endure every abdication of the high-sounding Responsibility to Protect.

1) There is no international treaty or consensus prescribing unity as a prerequisite for the competent institutions International community to intervene for global peace and security.

2) Ambazonians are already united in the purpose/outcome/objective of attaining a total and unconditional Freedom, Independence and Sovereignty of our Homeland – Ambazonia.
We the Ambazonians do not accept that the International Community that is condoning genocide with impunity to hide from their responsibility when they attempt to misinterpret or misconstrue differences in approach and strategy of fighting the enemy of the different Ambazonia Independentist Entities as signs of disunity. We see our differences and diversity as a strength, because those differences in approach and strategy allow us to survive all manner of schemes and ruses by the enemy to thwart our Liberation Struggle.  Those differences allow us a 360-degree perspective in the Struggle.

No number of conference resolutions announcing paper unity will ever be a passport for the international community to intervene because the same so called international community, constituted by sovereign nations that are signatories to the UN sanctioned R2P is silently awaiting with impunity, for 7 years now, the attainment of a MHS (Mutually Harmful Stalemate), which is the status that will pressure both parties to commit to any negotiation process. That means La République du Cameroun is deemed to not be motivated to engage in meaningful negotiations as they are not enduring sufficient suffering.

A sustainable firepower escalation on the ground is therefore paramount to determine a paradigm shift in their thinking as its the sole tool that will quickly take us to an MHS, hence get LRC to commit to a negotiation process soonest.

To Ambazonians:  If we need to “prove” anything to the international community it is that we deserve our country and sovereignty back. That is not by caving in to illogical concessions even before any contact with La République du Cameroun! It is by funding, fighting and freeing our land from the occupying militias of La République du Cameroun. As the international community displays silent complicity for the killings of school children on the streets of our towns and pregnant women in our villages the message is that we have to dare to go it alone to dislodge La République du Cameroun and ALL her allies and agents from our land.

Support your county in its Daring Move!

Happy Independence Day,
To our Heroes boring the land with their blood to dare the enemy La République du Cameroun out of Ambazonia,

Happy Independence Day,
To the quality few patriots enduring in sacrifices to safeguard resources for a free, independent and sovereign homeland,

Happy Independence Day,
To you all citizens of the ancestral linage and terrestrial origin of Southern Cameroons Ambazonia.

ACT – fireside chat hears from a prisoner of conscience

Ambazonian Flag

Ambazonian Collaboration Team, ACT has just concluded its latest fireside chat. One of the highlights was a submission from a prisoner of conscience.

The transcript follows:

ACT FIRESIDE CHAT 2023.

I will deliver my presentation in bullet points:

It has been a painstaking diplomatic walk and despite efforts to truncate it, ACT has remained consistent with its underpinning goal of driving the people of Ambazonia through mediation and negotiations. The work of ACT can be seen and felt by the blind and lame if only they are objective and true to cause. Cameroun has been through two pretalks with the people of Southern Cameroons and lost on both processes, mediated by the Swiss and Canada respectively. Team Ambazonia has been and is the custodian of mediation and the beacon of hope in terms of negotiations. Permit me use bullet points to share some thoughts on the state of our Liberation struggle vis a vis its ultimate end (mediation and negotiations).

1. Cameroun is facing defeat by Ambazonia and Africa

– For over 60 years and for the past 7 years particularly, La République du Cameroun is unable to deter the resolve of the people of Southern Cameroons, despite its subterfuge, lies, killings, maiming,  manipulation, corruption, divide and rule tactics, incarceration, torture, massacre,  displacement,  dehumanization and abuse of the owners of the territory.

– Failed in two international processes ( Swiss and Canada).

– Failed in all its cosmetics solutions in the contraptions of commissions (bilingualism, DDR, reconstruction, house of chiefs and national dialogue etc).

– Southern Cameroons is still warming to get started where LRC stops. Them di joke. Where them.deh?

– The African revolution led by West Africa will catch up with them sooner than later. France will collapse with its puppets like Biya and Atanga Nji.

2. Collaboration still dire:.

Speaking with one voice remains imperative especially at this critical moment where African politics meets revolutionary realities. At this time when the Canadian process is plugging out. At this time when traitors received huge bounties to kill and sell their their own, at this time when there is fatigue among Ambalanders. Most significantly, at this time when La République du Cameroun approaches its inevitable political transition.

In my view, the one thing to fix is the IG. To fix this complex mechanism within our struggle; generosity, humility, candour and rationality are required for the stakeholders. Comrades Anu, Marianta and Sako must be willing while ultimately, Sesekou Ayuk must man responsibility and act immediately and accordingly. He must and should call the solution in. The IG needs a restart button and this can be pushed comprehensively by the author of the predicament, Sesekou. [I have a motion to propose to this effect if allowed to].

– The IG and Sesekou. Fix this and then collaboration will be easily achievable with other frontline movements. I dont see any other viable avenue out of this quagmire.

– ADF, APLC, SoCADEF and ARF: there is already some meaningful understanding and joint work among these forces. Mending their political entities would perfect collaboration among them… LRC will have no place to hide. They know this, this is why they invest a lot to divide us. This is why they plant agents among us. That is the scheme of their master, France.

3. Ripeness for mediation:

– stalemate; a mutual hurting stalemate is the yardstick by international standards. We have shown beyond the shadows of doubt that La République du Cameroun will need the Roman and Byzantine empires to defeat us militarily. However, as shown on the last Amnesty International report, we are basically in an armed violence predicament and not really war. War can’t co-exist with night clubs, foot ball games, wedding parties, diplomatic meetings and luxurious constructions. Hence, I opine that we must agree to decide on what truly we can meaningfully do. Lrc is ready to recruit, train and deploy 5000 mad frogs to Southern Cameroons every 6 months. We don’t have the luxury of losing our volunteer self-defense men, women, boys and girls. It is good to remind us that, we don’t have an army, what we have are volunteer freedom fighters giving their lives to free us in truth and justice.

I contend therefore that, we must invest our resources and energy in doing the needful. You can’t be at war with an enemy as brutal and heartless as La République du Cameroun then allow all supply routes into your territory open. To stop invasion and incursions on your territory, cut supply routes. I say, we indefinitely close our borders with LRC. In deed, stop transportation and commerce. This can’t be achieved by romancing and engaging love sentiments (our people will suffer), as though they were in paradise for the past 60 years. If we close those borders (Tiko stretch, mile 14-16, Matazim, and Sabongari) thus allowing exports and imports only with West Africa, LRC will suffocate. Blacklegs and traitors won’t have a place to hide. More so, food items will become very affordable for our people as farm produce will benefit them most. It is my believe that LRC will run to negotiate within the first 2 months of the implementation of this closure. If carefully planned, this is easy to enforce and effective in collapsing LRC authoritarian regime and colonial administration over the people of Ambazonia.

4. Humanitarian challenges:

– the situation in the jails is precarious. Not only do most of us lack the means to hire legal representation at colonial courts, POC barely eat, are into drugs, see no future, suffer from mal nutrition, diseases like cholera, typhoid, cough, malaria, skin infections, wounds, eye infection etc etc. It is my plea that our diaspora rethinks their negligence towards these men, women, boys and girls dying for them in these dungeons. Below are the numbers in jails:-

Approximation.

  • Kondengui Principal Prison = 50+
  • Kondengui central prison =287
  • Douala new bell prison = 87
  • Buea prison            = 800+
  • Bamenda prison       = 850+
  • Bafousam prison      = 100+
  • Mbalmayo               = 1
  • Edea                  = unknown
  • Sed                   = 2

Our people are unaccounted for and are dying in cells and other detention centers like the genocide camp at Bafut airport, gendarmes, police, military and BIR camps all over Southern Cameroons and LRC not leaving out Nigeria.

Please my people, have pity on your conscience and help our people in incarceration.

– IDPs: our displaced persons still suffer on the streets of La République du Cameroun.

– Refugees: we hear most of them are now communicating with lrc as they get frustrated like the POC? This may be wrong, please correct me!

5. Recommendations:

  • Fix the IG and collaborate with other front lines: onus on Sesekou Ayuk
  • Assist the POC, IDPs and Refugees
  • Produce a real stalemate: close our borders and deal with traitors and enablers.

Conclusion

A hurting Stalmate is the ripeness measure for mediation and real negotiations. Lrc won’t budge to anything but real economic sabotage. Transportation and commerce are the heart of invasion and imperialism. If you want to hurt and ridicule an oppressor, target those. Our people must make a choice among their bad options: a) remain in bondage or, b) close their borders indefinitely with everything they got. We can’t eat our cake and have it. We can’t be up against France and romance with emotion. This is a 60-year-old regime that has assimilated some of our people and employed them against us at this critical time. We must do the needful or remain in captivity. If we don’t collaborate and close those borders; our diaspora will remain in exile, most of us will die in these dungeons, our people who’s blood keeps running the streets of Ambaland would have died for nothing, the sacrifices we the incarcerated are making would have been for nothing. Not that Ambaland won’t be free because no matter what, it shall be, but I am afraid that our children will have to be the generation that will free the land, not ours. May God remove our difficulties and make our tasks easy

CLOSE THOSE BORDERS: STOP TRANSPORTATION AND COMMERCE.

The owners of the land know themselves.

Blessed 1st October, The Day Of Southern Cameroons Independence.

God bless you.

Ambazonia Unity – the myths and the reality

Ambazonian Flag

Ambazonian unity is desirable.

That is an understatement it would be difficult, if not impossible, to argue against that simple assertion for if one did, the follow up accusation would be that only those who don’t care about the suffering on ground zero would even dare to discuss the issue of Ambazonian unity.

And yet here we are in an information war, La République du Cameroun’s last throw of the dice in a desperate attempt to out-wait Ambazonians. The simple idea is that Ambazonians will grow wary and the Liberation Struggle would fizzle out.

When tackled by the international community, La République du Cameroun said Ambazonia was a disunited rabble so they did not know who to talk to. They then implied that they were dealing with a little local difficulty with a few malcontents and it would soon be sorted. When it was not sorted as quickly but kept getting worse, they stumbled on the idea of getting the “divided” Ambazonian factions to “argue among themselves” to demonstrate to the international community that Ambazonians were divided and that La République du Cameroun was right about not knowing who to speak to.

At the same juncture, whether instigated by La République du Cameroun or not, Federalists inserted themselves in between as the “would-be reasonable sensible” compromise, giving interviews in which they highlighted the futility of a fight that could not be won. With almost callous smugness one prominent federalist said they were waiting until the two extremists fought it to a stalemate and realised that they had to negotiate. Then, said he, the federalists would come in and negotiate a federation. At the time Ambazonia News had not come across the apparently established method of conflict resolution among the international community where it was common practice to wait for the warring parties to reach a mutually harmful stalemate or something equivalent. They actually have the acronym for it, MHS. That is a state where they both see that they cannot win and should negotiate. That makes sense when considered – for the neutral international community. But would we want to fight our struggle and then hand over to people who had calculatingly sat cross-armed waiting for enough of our people to die? Knowing that those people proposed to bargain with the people who had inflicted the genocidal acts on our people?

The latest manifestation of federalists is in the current spate of conferences where Ambazonians seem driven to “prove” their unity as it would speed up the Struggle. Nobody is saying how but it does make sense that if Ambazonian resources were pooled it could in fact speed up the Struggle. So will unity come? Does it need to come?

It would be “nice” for unity to come. Well, unity is already here, the unity of purpose that is not mentioned in the information war and which discounts federalists. Without federalists, there is no need to demonstrate unity of attempt to “attain” it, for it has been here all along and in the best self-manifesting form, cropping up every time it is needed!

In the Swiss process, even though it brought together diverse Ambazonian entities there was a unity of purpose in that they all wanted unconditional independence for Ambazonia and could describe themselves as “Ambazonian Independentists”. In Canada, the focus was even more stark, driving La République du Cameroun to fall back to the out-waiting position, committing the most unspoken diplomatic sin on the way out! They let Global Affairs Canada issue a communique on their role and hopes for the future of a facilitation process before coming right out through an official and unmistakable channel to basically call Canada “liars”. That time, unlike when they bailed out of the Swiss Process, they did not leave it to a minor remote figure from outside the circle to try to spin the defeat as a clever ruse by the nonagenarian dictator, but sent out the official communication minister!

Ambazonia 2 – 0 La République du Cameroun. Ambazonia Coalition Team (ACT) was batting for Ambazonia on both occasions – without requiring all its members to fold into one! Yet look how well we did!

Since that defeat there has been fevered activity in the “Ambazonian” camp to ignore that unity and seek to attain “unity”. Some actors have tried to gain the new “unity” by avoiding the word “Ambazonia” as they sought to be “inclusive”. Some have been unable to cope with their transparency, first designating themselves with “Southern Cameroons” then suddenly switching to “Ambazonia”. When challenged, some resort to references to the “unbearable suffering” of ground zero to divert attention.

Ambazonia News maintains that the reason true Ambazonians will stick to the Liberation Struggle even if people keep talking about “divisions” is that true Ambazonians are aware that the “unbearable suffering” of our citizens on ground zero cannot continue. The way we will stop it is through the unity we already have and that is our common instinctive unity of purpose which was not orchestrated through any resolutions of a conference but through the instinctive response of diverse Ambazonians who, on at least two occasions, told La République du Cameroun, in front of international witnesses, that it is over and our independence is for keeps.

Ambazonia News believes that conferences are useful for keeping in contact and exchanging ideas but urges all well-meaning attenders to be open-eyed when they attend so as not to be disappointed. The Ambazonian Liberation Struggle is not to achieve unity in conference resolutions. It is to actualise our legally existing and owned independence. As such all Ambazonians should be relaxed about our Nation belonging to us. It is no longer up for discussion. The shortest way for us to get it is to drive La République and her agents and allies out of our land – ourselves. That will prove that we are united and deserve our Nation. Conference resolutions will not compel La République du Cameroun to negotiate nor the international community to pressurize La République, which even if they did, could simply ignore and wait – try to out-wait us.

In a real way HCB 2892 tells us that we do not need to negotiate with La République du Cameroun as they are “illegally and forcibly occupying” our land after their secession in 1984 – a secession which also rendered it impossible for them to do anything on Ambazonians’ behalf, be it offering special status or negotiation or posting stooges in what they called Great National Dialogue. They do not even have the right to propose a referendum in Ambazonia, for want of that sovereignty!

Even if “unity” does not come from those initiatives, all true Ambazonians should seek out groups that dare and are willing to make Daring Moves and join hands in that single domain… Our country belongs to us and we have no apologies to make when it comes to our right to fund, fight and free it for our future generations.

The Most High God has always been the Watchman of Ambazonia.
