Ambazonia in 2026: Cameroun convicts Ngarbuh scapegoats

In this post Ambazonia News considers the state of the Ambazonia Liberation Struggle, the stasis-to-comatose state of La République du Cameroun and the, resulting gridlock in the any potential resolution.

This week, an incredible event took place in La République du Cameroun. A few soldiers of the La République du Cameroun Army were convicted and sentenced for the crimes they committed, now in record with the complicity of “Mbororo Militias” when they massacred 21 civilians and burnt down their village in the Ngarbuh Massacre six years ago (bbc Africa). In a country where the state of law is renowned for its absence, it is a salutary reminder to the “poor-people’s-children” still deployed to maim and intimidate in Ambazonia. Not only does justice await them from the Ambazonian side, even after the resolution, they can expect their own “judges” to have to try and sentence them. Impunity is no longer guaranteed – for those who execute the orders, even if still in question for those who give the orders.

To be noted, many other war crimes remain to be investigated.

Meanwhile, five months after “winning” another term in office, RDPC remains in stasis, frozen as they ponder the succession puzzle, they refuse to accept or contemplate. They would have been better off “losing” as that puzzled would have self-resolved. As it is headaches abound as nobody knows what to do. The “government” which was in place before the 2018 victory, remains in place so many months after the 2025 victory with no road map for tomorrow never mind for the seven years. They cannot deliver any of the “crossed-finger” promises they made for Mr Biya as they schemed to “win” in October 2025. They cannot budge any of the entrenched kleptocrats for fear of collapsing the cosa nostra that they balanced in place to keep referencing Mr Biya as they pillaged and bungled their way to ruination of La République du Cameroun over the years. So blatant have the “emperor’s new clothes” been over the years that nobody has been bothering to try to hide anything, from daily highway robberies by the ”forces of law and order” to actual murders by the secret services commissioned, apparently by private individuals. For the duration of Mr Biya’s reign, police and gendarmes have run a racket of extorting the economy in broad daylight where they collected bribes from all vehicles on all roads by running numerous check-points. This racket has not reduced deaths as death-trap unroadworthy vehicles routinely infest the laughable trenches called “roads”. Of course public transport buses still have extra seats literally welded in so that they can board more passengers than those buses were design for. There is no need to lament. The racket is just a racket, which has sadly raised a generation of La République du Cameroun citizens who do not expect any laws. That is why the Ngarbuh Conviction need to be publicised far and wide. They could finally bring some light to our neighbour’s house and lead to advent of “someone at home”, by contrast to the vacancy that has pervaded these past few decades. That someone at home would, hopefully, take a look at the legal, as well as the military state of affairs in their occupation of Ambazonia and come to the obvious conclusion that there is no mileage in continuing to send poor-people’s children to commit war-crimes in Ambazonia and then have to convict them.

Militarily ten years proves that they are not up to defeating Ambazonia and that is telling because Ambazonia defence is not even organised yet! But they are getting there, the mistakes of the past are vanishing as Ambazonian self-defence forces, ARF+, learn and adapt to the idea that their country is forever and to be defended in perpetuity rather than just this week or this month. They can think carefully about living to fight another day rather than post rash clips of every encounter. They are no longer needed.

What is needed is “reality”. Reality should be that Ambazonia runs Ambazonia in practice. Our schools and our economy should be ours. Our schools, so that our children keep up with the learning that is available to all children on the planet and have the same access to the opportunities for social and economic progress. Our citizens’ lives should be merited and accrued from the sweat of their brow rather than constantly frustrated by La République Extortion Points. ARF+ should have those points on their target list, not for this week but for the most opportune moment. The enforcers of those check points should stew on the certainty that there are listed for remover by ARF+. Then they will leave soon enough and be negotiated away when “someone is at home” in La République du Cameroun. In this reality, ARF+ should collaborate with our citizens to facilitate that control of their own dignity economic and social progression. That social and economic progression should ensure the safety of all Ambazonians, including the ARF+. Ambazonia is Ambazonian and should be cherished, valued and protected by Ambazonians. Ambazonians should also realise that their very safety has been protected by Ambazonia in ways that they have taken for granted or not noticed. The most basic such is the mere dignity of being Ambazonian in the cesspool that Biya has created for La République du Cameroun citizens. Imagine having to accept that that is you country. Now imagine how helpful it is to have those Ambazonian blue socks, shirt, suit, tie, or t-shirt that allow you to say to yourself “This La République du Cameroun Occupation will end soon”.

Legally, LRC is still under various binds, not least of which are the African Commissions rules and rulings – notably Banjul. Then there is HCB 28/92.

In summary, while La République du Cameroun is La République du Cameroun they have no legal right over Ambazonia and have been illegal and forceful occupiers -legally since 1984 when that change of name enshrined their return to their 1st January borders at independence. While the de facto state of affairs presented so ambiguity about the actual status of the relationship, no treaty having been signed, quite apart from some many of the “understandings of the plebiscite” having been broken, it became irrevocable that La République du Cameroun’s claim to any association with Ambazonia was scrubbed and severed forever, regardless of whether that was disputed or not. For ever and a day, certainty was gone. Or certainty was back – Ambazonia exists and is separate from Cameroun regardless of any “Anglophone” stooges being thrust forward to claim to represent Ambazonia within La République du Cameroun. La République du Cameroun is apart from Ambazonia – forever. Even if Ambazonians one day choose of their own free will to confederate, federate, good-neighbour or whatever, La République du Cameroun is still a separate state from Ambazonia, no ifs or buts.

Other legal cul de sac, down which La République du Cameroun proceeds, include the Nera 10 who were illegally rendered to Yaounde and tried as citizens of La République du Cameroun, ignoring their protests, otherwise. This is way beyond the scope of this post and reserved for a better qualified poster…

When La République du Cameroun comes out of stasis we the Ambazonians call on all international partners, friends and well wishers of Ambazonia and/or La République du Cameroun, to prevail on their leaders to note these realities and act from their awareness and knowledge to normalize the relationship between of two peoples and a more productive, logical mutual position.

The might of Ambazonia is is in our righteousness and legality. We are also building our [moral] might and the biggest of all – our dignity.
